Welcome to the world of acupuncture AND FIRE CUPPING
Acupuncture has been around for nearly 4,000 years and is a key part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It's a noninvasive way to promote natural healing, boost immunity, and support both physical and emotional health. Many people find it a safe and effective option for treating various medical issues, helping them feel better and improve their overall wellbeing.

Fire cupping (or "myofascial decompression") is a cool therapeutic technique that works by using suction instead of pressure—the opposite of massage. This ancient method involves placing heated jars on the skin to create a vacuum, pulling the skin and underlying tissues upward. Cupping aims to boost circulation, ease pain, and draw out toxins from the body. The combination of acupuncture and fire cupping might just be the winning combination you have been searching for!

WHAT TO KNOW FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
Maryam is our Licensed Acupuncturist and is located in our Grandview location.
During the initial exam, Maryam will gather a comprehensive health history through questions about your symptoms and lifestyle and may conduct a physical exam, including evaluations of your tongue and pulse. This information helps identify imbalances in Qi that might be linked to health issues. When these imbalances are pinpointed, the acupuncturist inserts fine, sterile needles into specific acupuncture points along meridian pathways. This process can relieve blockages and restore Qi balance, allowing it to flow freely throughout the body. As a result, this supports adequate nourishment to cells and organs, alleviates pain, and enhances the body's natural healing processes, contributing to optimal health and well-being.
Before you arrive. It's best not to eat a large meal before coming in for your appointment. Arrive neither full nor hungry. If you’re running on empty, a piece of fruit is a great pre-appointment snack! Visit the restroom before your session to ensure you are comfortable during your treatment.
What to Wear. Most clients find loose, comfortable clothing ideal to allow access to forearms, lower legs, hands and feet. Depending on the course of treatment, we may need to access your back, abdomen or gluteus (i.e. to treat sciatic pain). Some clients bring along a change of clothes and slip into yoga/sweatpants and a t-shirt prior to treatment.
After your appointment. You are encouraged to drink lots of water after your appointment and make sure to stay warm. Refrain from drinking alcohol 24 hours after the appointment for best results.
